On November 6, 2020, Chile’s Servicio de Agricultura y Ganadería (Agriculture and Livestock Service; SAG) published its Modifica Resolución N° 1.557, de 2014 del SAG que establece exigencias para la autorización de plaguicidas (Amendment to SAG Resolution No. 1.557 of 2014 establishing requirements for the authorization of pesticides) (Modifica Resolución) for a 60-day comment period.
The Modifica Resolución sets out the technical requirements and methodology for the evaluation of substances by equivalence. As part of this, SAG will determine the reference standards against which active substances must be evaluated. These reference standards will be determined in accordance with the modalities established in the Modifica Resolución and other provisions.
Comments must be submitted by January 5, 2021.
