Israel’s “Memorandum of the Industrial Chemicals Registration Law, 2020”

On October 1, 2020, Israel’s Ministry of Environmental Protection published its much-anticipated “Memorandum of the Industrial Chemicals Registration Law, 2020” for a 20 day comment period.

The “Memorandum”, which is expected to enter into force on March 1, 2023, would establish an 18-month period during which time manufacturers and importers would have to provide the Ministry with required data, and to register substances manufactured or imported into the country at volumes greater than 10 tonnes per annum. These substances would constitute the basis for a chemical substance inventory.
